The department has been established and operated since 1983.

The specialized department is located in the 8th building of the multidisciplinary clinic of Tashkent Medical Academy by the address Tashkent city, Almazar district, farobiy 2 street.

The department has 45 hospital beds. The hospital and the surgery units are deployed on the 2nd floor of the building. The advisory office operates on the ground floor.

There are two operating rooms in the surgery unit. Every year, up to 1000 patients are treated, and more than 700 operations are performed in the department.

The chair of Traumatology, Orthopedics, and Military field Surgery is based in the department.

The department specializes in purulent orthopedics and traumatology. Patients are treated according to the following nosologies:

Open, infected fractures;
Purulent diseases of the joints;
Сhronical osteomyelitis and its orthopedic complications;
Postoperative osteomyelitis;
Hematogenous osteomyelitis and its orthopedic consequences;
Bone-cystic diseases, bone echinococcosis.

The department has introduced modern methods of treatment. The department's doctors are regularly trained and improved their skills in the leading hospitals of Russia and other countries.
